Down the Road Clayworks
Ceramics, Sculpure, & Pottery

Made in Oregon

Contemporary work with archaic influence
Hi there! I'm Chase and I run Down the Road Clayworks.
It's a little pottery I started after graduating the University of Oregon where I got a BFA in Ceramics.
My studies took me through ancient architecture, medieval art history,
and the fundamental chemistry of fire and clay.
I work in stoneware, both red and white.
All my glazes are lead-free, dishwasher-able, and microwave-safe!

My most popular item is the barrel mug with tentacle handle. I also offer standard handle, no handle, and half-barrel versions.
Knotted Vessels
Down the Road's flagship vessel. I offer various mugs, bowls, jars, and vases with hand-carved infinite-loop knots. Inspired by celtic and nordic traditional knotwork found on tapestry and standingstones. Each vessel is subtley unique with a one-of-a-kind knotwork to match.
Mugs and pitchers are available with either standard or braided handles.
Live Wheel-Throwing & Hand-building demos:
Come see me at one of Oregon's many fine Renaissance and Medieval Faires!
See mud become to vessel, clay turn to cups!

Peruse the finished pieces glazed fresh from the fire, and maybe take one home. For yourself, or for that special someone.
